Pharmacy chains, which managed to increase their sales by more than 18% in the first quarter of last year, now have to record a drop in revenue. In January-March 2021, pharmacy chains in Russia as a whole sold drugs and related products for 331.6 billion rubles, which is 11.5% less year-on-year, according to the data provided to Kommersant by DSM Group. An insignificant growth in the revenue of chains from the sale of drugs in DSM Group was recorded only in January, when this amount amounted to 87.9 billion rubles. (an increase of 3.5% compared to the same month in 2020). Analysts call this a “leftover” from last December’s high sales.
